"I did a lot of research prior to buying land in Costa Rica, and that involved contacting MANY agencies and agents, surfing countless websites, etc. What I found was that most agents really didn’t care to talk to me (much less email me back), unless I was standing in their doorway with cash in hand. It’s a big decision to spend a large sum of money in a foreign country, but they walked me through the whole process and made me feel comfortable.
